DAAD Scholarships for 2018-2019


 Applications are invited for DAAD scholarships from developing countries’ students. The scholarships are available for pursuing a postgraduate degree at German institutions of Higher education.
 With its development-oriented postgraduate study programmes, the DAAD promotes the training of specialists from development and newly industrialised countries. Well-trained local experts, who are networked with international partners, play an important part in the sustainable development of their countries. They are the best guarantee for a better future with less poverty, more education and health for all. The scholarships offer foreign graduates from development and newly industrialised countries from all disciplines and with at least two years' professional experience the chance to take a postgraduate or Master's degree at a state or state-recognised German university, and in exceptional cases to take a doctoral degree, and to obtain a university qualification (Master's/PhD) in Germany.

Eligibility
·         Candidates fulfil the necessary academic requirements and can be expected to successfully complete a study programme in Germany (above-average result for first academic exam – top performance third, language skills)
·         Candidates have a Bachelor degree (usually a four-year course) in an appropriate subject
·         Candidates have at least two years' professional experience
·         Candidates can prove their motivation is development-related and be expected to take on social responsibility and initiate and support processes of change in their personal and professional environment after their training/scholarship

Scholarship value (What does it cover
·         Depending on academic level, monthly payments of 750 euros for graduates or 1,000 euros for doctoral candidates
·         Payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover
·         Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding

How to apply

·         research exposé (if required by university)
·         academic letter/s of recommendation from your university; the letter must have a signature and office stamp and must be of recent date (not in a sealed envelope)
·         professional letter/s of recommendation from your employer; the letter must have a signature and office stamp and must be of recent date (not in a sealed envelope)
·         confirmation of employment from the employer in your home country and if possible, a guarantee of re-employment upon your return home
·         Proof of language abilities
- English – IELTS or TOEFL (Note: Institutional TOEFL will not be accepted)
- German – necessary for the courses taught in German; for the courses taught in English, if available
- copies of awarded academic degrees
- copies of academic transcripts
- copy of School Leaving Certificate

British Chevening Masters Scholarships for International Students



Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme offers awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study for a master’s degree in any subject at any UK university.
Chevening offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must:
•  Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.
•  Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended
•  Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK
•  Have at least two years’ work experience
•  Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 13 July 2017
•  Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 13 July 2017

Scholarship value (What does it cover)
A Chevening Scholarship normally covers university tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel costs to and from the UK, an arrival allowance, a homeward departure allowance, the cost of one visa application, and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK.

Scholarships For Masters Program At University of Tsukuba In Japan, 2016


The PEPP started out in 1995 as the Master’s Program in Policy Management and it was part of the Graduate School of International Political Economy of the University of Tsukuba. The objective of the Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP) is to provide, within the time frame of 18 months, training and the necessary skills for the conception, design, and implementation of development policies.
The University of Tsukuba is a national university founded in October 1973 and set in the new Tsukuba Science City on the basis of the older Tokyo University of Education. Its aim is to contribute to the promotion of scientific research and cultural exchanges.
Eligibility
To apply to JJ/WBGSP, applicant must:
-Be a national of a World Bank (WB) member country that is eligible to receive WB financing eligible developing country and not be a national of any country that is not eligible to receive the WB financing.
-Hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic achievement earned more than three (3) years before June 3rd 2016.
-Not have received any scholarship funding to earn a Graduate degree or its equivalent from any sources funded by the government of Japan
-Be employed in a paid and full time position at the time of Friday, June 3rd 2016 unless the applicant is from a country identified in the WB’s “Harmonized List of Fragile Situations.”
-Have, by the time of Friday, June 3rd 2016, at least three (3) years of recent full time paid professional experience acquired in development-related work after a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the applicant’s home country or in another developing country; If the applicant is from a country identified in the WB’s “Harmonized List of Fragile Situations” at the time of Friday, June 3rd 2016, the recent professional experience does not have to be full time or paid.
-Be under the age of forty-five 45 by June 3rd, 2016.
-Not be an Executive Director, his/her alternate, staff of the World Bank Group (the World Bank, International Development Association, International Finance Corporation, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, and International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes), or a close relative of the aforementioned
-Admitted to the University unconditionally only upon securing financing.
To apply to ADB-JSP, applicant must:
-Be a national of an Asian Development Bank (ADB) borrowing member.
-Gain admission to an approved MA/PhD course at an academic institution.
-Hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.
-At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree) at the time of application. Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.
-Be not more than 35 years of age at the time of application.
-Agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program.
-Not be Executive Director, Alternate Director, management and staff of ADB, consultant, or relative of the aforementioned.
-Not be a staff of the JSP designated institutions are not eligible to apply to their own institution.
-Not live or work in a country other than his/her home country.
-Not be enrolled in other graduate degree programs.

Scholarship value (What does it cover)
The scholarship benefits cover:
-Round trip air travel (economy class) between home country and Japan, plus a travel allowance of US$ 500 for each one-way trip
-Full tuition and fees
-A monthly living stipend
-National health insurance
-Other program expenses such as Japanese lessons, educational trips, internship etc

Commonwealth Masters Scholarships in low and middle income countries


The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is a unique programme. Since its establishment in 1959, it has provided opportunities for over 30,000 citizens of all Commonwealth countries to study in other member countries.
Following the establishment of the CSFP endowment fund in 2009, a new strand of Commonwealth Scholarships located in low and middle income countries is available
Applications are now open for Master’s scholarships for courses beginning in mid-2016 in:
Eligibility
  • Applicants must be a citizen of any Commonwealth country other than the host country.
  • Applicants must hold a first degree of upper second class standard (or above) in a discipline relevant to that in which study is proposed
Scholarship value (What does it cover)
  • Return economy airfare from the scholar’s home country to the host country
  • An arrival allowance of USD 500 to cover removal costs
  • Full tuition fees
  • A monthly/quarterly stipend intended to cover living costs, sustenance and local transport. Scholars will need to cover accommodation costs from their stipend.

How to apply
